Dr. Angus Menuge
Concordia University
Angus Menuge is currently Professor of Philosophy at Concordia University Wisconsin. His research interests include philosophy of mind and Christian apologetics. In 2004, he published Agents Under Fire: Materialism and the Rationality of Science. This book argues that neither strict nor broad versions of naturalism are able to accommodate human rationality. Menuge has also authored a number of articles defending a robust, dualistic picture of agency, which allows top-down causation and libertarian free will and arguing that Intelligent Design is superior to Darwinism as a scientific research program for understanding human rationality. In addition to academic publication, Menuge has participated in outreach and debate events as a defender of the Christian faith. He is currently working on a successor to Agents Under Fire that develops a fuller account of rational agency.
